Columbus Avenue A.M.E. Church is dedicated.

June 7, 1903

Formerly the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, the congregation moves into what had been the former Temple Adath Israel at 600 Columbus Avenue. The congregation, of 254, half of whom had been born in the South, had previously met on Beacon Hill. The church contains a bell made Paul Revere and the congregation has only three pastors from 1918 to today.
